History

A 19 year old man presents with an 18 month history of warty lesions on his glans penis. He had unprotected sexual intercourse with his girlfriend on several occasions over this period until she withdrew her favours several months ago, pending successful treatment of the lesions. However neither cryotherapy, topical imiquimod nor podophyllin paint had had any noticeable effect, and his general practitioner refused to consider diathermy on the grounds that this might cause scarring.
