History

A 12 year old girl presents with a 2 year history of recurrent swelling of her lips, each attack subsiding after 2 to 3 days but not resolving completely and resulting in chronic and increasing swelling. She is otherwise in good health, with no medical history of note and no other abnormalities found on general examination of the skin or mouth. She occasionally wears lipstick but there are no other contact nor obvious dietary factors.
