History

A 17 year old girl presents with several circumscribed patches of abnormal skin over her trunk. These were first noticed 10 years ago as erythematous patches which later became depressed, and the original lesions have since remained stable but further patches have appeared over the past year or so. Established patches are slightly depressed, with sharp margins and a bluish colour, and newer lesions are erythematous patches with no depression. They are asymptomatic and the skin texture is normal. There is no history of trauma, treatment or travel, and she is otherwise well but is concerned by her appearance.
